My painting and sculpture is inspired by the living world around me, which I find totally entrancing and full of wonder, beauty and subtlety.

The human body is so expressive of emotion and vitality and the shapes and forms of creatures speak of a harmony that I can sense but can’t pin down-but I like to try to catch it in my work.

I almost always work from life to try and embody the special qualities of a three-dimensional living form that is not easy to decipher from a photograph.

I paint my landscapes on site and often sketch animals over fences!

​

I am also fascinated by the Old Gods-Mother Earth, naiads, dryads and spirits of water, earth, air and fire. I understand these as aspects to deepen our experience of being alive.
