IMG_2512.jpeg

Daniel Skinner, born in London, living in Sussex, is a painter and printmaker. He completed his BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art at Northumbria University in Newcastle. In 1997 he was offered a residency at Allerton Castle in North Yorkshire, and in 2002 he moved to Japan to study printmaking in Kyoto. The last few years has seen him exhibiting works in  group shows and galleries around the UK. His work is in various collections around the world.

Looking to the work of Samuel Palmer, Blake, and Paul Nash, Daniel uses landscapes as his main source of inspiration, creating works that emphasise a personal sense of place and history. His recent work explored landscapes his father and he walked in, before he passed away in 2024.

Based on a trip to south India, Daniel is currently working on paintings exploring our impact on the environment.
