My glass artwork utilises the colours and textures of glass fusing materials and techniques as a fine art medium. An intuitive and painterly response to an image or drawing of mine, further enhanced by the surprises created during the glass firing process. Light plays a big part in my use of glass as a medium.
My glass work can take many forms including 2-dimensional panels mounted onto boards or directly onto walls; freestanding waves and curves; pieces set into wood blocks or glass bases; and functional items such as bowls and plates.
I’m currently working on a series of larger-scale pieces, using vintage window frames.
Favourite inspirational locations of mine include Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and the South Downs.
I have a background in Art and Design including a BA (Hons) Design degree, with a career working in Design, then qualified teaching Textiles and Art, followed by running Artworks an independent creative arts studio for a number of years.
I am now enjoying focusing solely on my glass work and creativity.
