Nicky Bagge

Nicki Bagg portrait.jpg

In my youth I studied art at Reigate School of Art and Design, where I found my love for etching and watercolour painting.

Following that, I moved to London which I hated with a passion, and realised that I need to be close to nature.

Now, many years later, I live in The Ashdown Forest which is an abundant source of inspiration.

While my children were very young, I did watercolour paintings and sold through The Royal Academy Business Gallery, The Bourne Gallery (now called John Robertson Fine Paintings), and Framed Gallery in Worcester.

For the past few years I have pursued my love of ceramics, and currently focus on sgraffito work, using themes from nature with the odd quirk thrown in.

More recently I have begun exploring decoration using cobalt oxide which reflects my love for old Chinese ceramics and Delft pottery.

All my pottery is hand built or made using a mould and no two pieces are exactly the same.
