Bernadina trained at London College of Printing and Goldsmith’s College, and now works from her studio in Ditchling, where she also runs workshops and drawing classes.
Bernadina works in both a representational and abstract manner and believes that each informs and aids the other. Her subject matter ranges from the human form to landscape, still life and architecture. In painting, she is drawn to evidence of change over time and the interaction of colour and surface with mark-making, deliberate or accidental, that may suggest narrative history.
Bernadina’s work has sold in the UK at shops and galleries including Liberty, the South Bank Centre and Leeds Craft & Design Gallery, and in Sweden, Germany, France, New York and San Francisco. She also exhibits with Art in Ditchling as part of Brighton Festival Artists’ Open Houses each May.
