I have a degree in Textiles from Brighton University and now enjoy living in Lewes. My training to develop texture and form now has a huge influence on the way I approach my subject. My current work is largely from observation and I work mostly in oil with some collage introduced to create layers, space and interest.
I relish the journey of being creative, of seeing an image emerge from the canvas, and really enjoy the freedom of paint. It is important to me that my work maintains a sense of spontaneity and freshness.
I approach my work as a project, making up a series of related images using slightly different techniques, and always strive to capture personality, character or a quirky element on the canvas.
