ARTISTS STATEMENT
I have always loved to paint, and especially to draw. I was inspired initially by my father who painted in oils and exhibited locally. He made frames, and would sometimes put my masterpieces in frames and up on my wall they would go!
I did not have a formal Art Education, but after having my daughters I took an A level in Art here at Lewes, then began a foundation course...but did not finish and go on to degree level as I went on to have my son instead! I have continued to paint and draw as time allowed and now I have work in several group exhibitions annually. I am kept very busy with commissions including animals, fun portraits, house portraits and local landscapes. Archaeology and local history are my other interests, and I love to look above the shopfronts, and see the old buildings, and what may have gone before.
