ARTISTS STATEMENT
I have always loved to paint, and especially to draw. I was inspired initially by my father who painted in oils and exhibited locally. He made frames, and would sometimes put my masterpieces in frames and up on my wall they would go. I have work in several local exhibitions annually. Voted best painting at the Chailey & Newick Painting group exhibition Nov.2009. Runner up in the Bath Prize 2010. I am kept very busy with commissions including fun portraits, house portraits and townscapes. Archaeology and local history are my other interests, and I love to look above the shopfronts, and see the old buildings, and what may have gone before.
