From Charcoal to Clay
I began as a designer. Through designing I started drawing. I found freedom in large pencil and charcoal life and portrait sketches. These evolved into sculptures. I loved the art form but lost a certain freedom. Now clay is my passion. The whole concept is appealing. From earth we get clay, its moulded, heated, enhanced with elements from nature such as wood ash, oxides, quarts and more. Fired to white hot temperatures. Opening the kiln and seeing your creations for the first time is true emotion. My aim is to create individual ceramic sculptures making each one unique.
