Vision Statement
Our 21 artists have widely differing approaches to their work. Many value the chance effects that different media provide. Some create moods using colour, some are inspired by the world in which we live, others are more interested in representing and interior world of feelings and imagination. All are committed to producing work of the highest standard.
Our mission is to provide each other with artistic encouragement and practical support in the running of an exhibition space that makes no demands other than that work be top quality and well presented.
Our vision is that the name 'Chalk Gallery' be associated with diverse and high quality artwork that is affordable and presented in a way that is approachable.
We also aim to support and foster other galleries and art initiatives in the area as well as working together with the wider community to provide Lewes as a centre of artistic excellence.

NEW ARTIST AT CHALK

Woodturner John Muddle has joined Chalk Gallery. John’s exquisite bowls and hollow forms are designed to reveal the wonderful range of colours, grain-patterns and irregular features found naturally in our beautiful English timbers. john’s work will be on display at Chalk from 12th April.
